O.O my bad well I'll draw a new one soon and I'll post the GOOD version XD with wings ^^.
Magno Corsyo
ok here are some things I'm working on:

-The better (with wings) version of Seji.
-............................

Maybe i'll do requests if i find the time.
Rainy
Hey! Where are those wings, little mister?
I like your interpretation of the Rito's beak. Personally, their a bit of a challenge for me (along with Zora noses and many other humanoid features) and I seem to repeat the same basic design with each different Rito character.
Magno Corsyo
Well now that I'm back I would like to show of my new art style.
But Since I have no scanner at the moment I'll show some pixel art I made.

Personally I like the Charizard one the most then the salamence one. I had originally intended to use the pixel I made on custom made Trainer cards. Never went trough with making one since I just kept changing my Team way to much.
The flygon one was the first one I made, I was experimenting at school and that's what I got.
As you can obviously see it's just a slight recoloring of an original sprite with some extra things.
I still have a long way too go and Constrctive criticisme is very much welcome biggrin.gif

Edit: Removed do thue violation of forum rules.

Abby
I love the Flygon, although that may have to do with my love for Flygon...

Lol thanks, flygon is a cool pokemon though.
Frietepiet
Never save pixelart as JPG. It makes the pixels muddy and creates those ugly JPG artifacts. Always use PNG or GIF.

Other than that, nice that you're showing an interest in pixelart smile.gif However, posting off-topic content (which Pokémon would probably be considered as) is not allowed on the art forums for whatever reason. Same goes for posting edits of original artwork, in this case the sprites from the games.

Thanks for the tips Frietepiet. I just posted this because I was concidering making My character in Pixel form. Oh Btw Very nice Pixel frietepiet you made. I'll remove the pokemon one's.
Collin
For the record, I don't mind off-topic art. For instance I didn't complain about the otter someone else posted (I thought it was rather cute).

However edits/copying of another's/official art are in my book a bit of a no. I wouldn't go as far as calling them against forum regulations, though. Personally I think you didn't have to remove them. Just mention that it's not a hundred percent yours. Which you did, right? smile.gif

- No edited original art.

Why is it that every time I try to do a modding job one of the admins tells me something along the lines of it not being a big deal?

Collin.Edit: Excuse me, I forgot we actually set that rule up. Happens.
Aure
Well the offtopic art rule is a bit old as we've seen non-zelda related art around.

Let's not make too big a fuss! tounge.gif
Collin
I made a mistake. You did good in removing the art, Frietepiet did good in telling you off.
There, now can we give the kid his artthread back? Much appreciated.

And to roll back on topic: I'd actually like seeing you make something RP-inspired, you said you were going to make an avatar right? smile.gif Remember to save it as a .gif or .png - as frietepiet told you - it makes the quality loads bitter.
Magno Corsyo
Ok, now that that's sorted out.
I will save it as a .gif this time.
Next thing I post will be 100% home made biggrin.gif
Magno Corsyo
Well so...
I tried and made a full body gif of Magno, didn't really work out so I tried to make the head and then get him to blink to start out.
This is the result: IPB Image

Edit: It seems his body moves a bit while blinking, a mistake tounge.gif
Also I don't think it's very good plus I messed up the resolution and stuff. But still any comments are welcome biggrin.gif
Frietepiet
A good idea when you're first starting pixel-art is to work small smile.gif My avatar might look big, but it's actually doubled in size for show. Starting out with a 32x32 or 16x16 piece is a better idea, as that way you will learn what difference each pixel will make to the overall image. One single pixel can mess up a nice shape, and that is something you'll have to learn before taking on bigger pieces.

Also, contrast is very important in pixel-art. Colours might look good when you're working in x5 zoom, but when you zoom out they might blend into each other. Especially on the black in your picture you're having some issues with this. I can see you've shaded it, but I have to be really close to my monitor to see it.

Here's two good starter tutorials you can follow:

http://www.petesqbsite.com/sections/tutorials/tuts/tsugumo/

http://www.derekyu.com/?page_id=218

Hope this helps smile.gif
Magno Corsyo
Thanks for the help. These guides will come in handy next time I try.
I started at 90x90 which when you look at it now wasn't a really good Idea.
16x16 might be a better starting size smile.gif

Also, Since I don't have photo shop I'm using gimp and when I resized it messed up, so
that also might be one of my problems.
Frietepiet
Try out GraphicsGale:

http://www.humanbalance.net/gale/us/

There's a free version that lets you do some stuff, but doesn't save animated GIFs. The full version is like 20 dollars or something. Not that expensive.
It's a program specifically for pixel-art smile.gif

Also, when resizing pixel-art, always set it to Nearest Neighbour and remember to always scale it in sizes of two (200%, 400%, etc). That way, your pixels won't get messed up when scaling smile.gif.
Magno Corsyo
Thanks for all your help.
This should keep me busy for a while biggrin.gif
Magno Corsyo
So I tried using graphics scale, I made myself and this is what I got.

IPB Image
I followed frietepiet's advice and started at 32x32
That worked out oke, so afterwards I resized it to a bigger size and it didn't turn out as bad as last time.
Collin
That's pretty cool. My advice would be is to pick a place where your light comes from and shade the forms accordingly. For starters you could use a base colour, one for the shading and one for the lighting. Makes three colours for every hue you use.

And when you got that down nicely you can start using more colours for shading, and anti-alias your art, smile.gif

So far though, keep it up. You're making nice progress.

Thanks, Starting with base colors would be good for starting.
It's fun to learn something new, except for the things I learn when I go to school.
I only get classic drawing lessons, and how to work with Photoshop.

I'll keep what you said in mind Next time I make one.

A Quick try to make a Gif: IPB Image
Magno Corsyo
Oke so I was tired of not being able to scan te art I had already made.
So I just took a snapshot of it.

This is my secondary character Seth Rydell.
I had drawn this before making my application So I could work around that.
IPB Image

Any tips, things I should keep in mind or other things are welcome.

Edit: I will now edit My first post in this topic every time I'm working on something new.
Preston
Hey, I was wondering if you could make my avatar when you can. You'll either find it in Accepted apllications or unaccepted (for now... cool.gif ) ones. Thanks! smile.gif

I like how you use Markers or crayons, instead of using a computer.

Well I just use color pencils, I do know how to color with photoshop and so but for the moment I'll just do this.(Otherwise I would just do regular coloring and coloring with Photoshop biggrin.gif)

So this is what it looks like without color. I'm sorry It's very hard to see but that's because of the webcam >.<

Is this okay? Or else I will redraw it smile.gif

I love it. Its cartoony like a Koriki. Thanks! Happy Birthday.

Magno Corsyo
Well overall I'm okay with the drawing and coloring I did.
This is what it looks like:

First I'm gonna post it here and then I'll make an avatar out of it smile.gif

Edit: I'm gonna do a closer up picture for the avatar.

And here is your avatar smile.gif

Magno Corsyo
What do you do when you are bored? When you just played Fallout 3? When you spend a lot of time on Zeldafront?

You make a mock up drawing biggrin.gif

IPB Image

So yeah, it took me about half an hour to draw, Messed up the skin tone but oh well.

It's the new and better
Hyrule's Linkboy.
Ventus
That's great! so does that mean vault 13 is Kokiri Forest?

Thanks. I'm serious about the vault thing though. Damn you Ventus!

I might make a ganondorf one. biggrin.gif
Ventus
I try smile.gif
Magno Corsyo
Then I thought like hey, lets make ganondorf.
"The Gerudo where pretty jealous of the Hylians new found technology. That's when they copied the concept and made the Ganonboy 3000. 50% the same as the Linkboy, 100% more evil."
IPB Image

Not exactly ganondorf but meh. I did what I could biggrin.gif
