Full Version: Tales of Monkey Island
Zeldafront RPG Stone > Tael, Tatl & Navi > Navi
Atake
I noticed a lot of fans reside on this board so I figured a topic would be appropriate. I just started playing (managed to pre order it just before the 7th in order to get the bonus stuff) and so far it's awesome.

The graphic style and audio couldn't have been done better in my opinion, aside of some minor graphic glitches (like polygons in Guybrush' hand which don't connect properly).

Flotsam Island is just awesome too. tounge.gif I haven't been inside the paintshop yet but I'm hoping to find me a talking tattoo in there! biggrin.gif

Finished the first episode, it's great and the episodic format works really well with the established Monkey Island Chapter/Island scheme. The voice acting is spot on, really love it. Looking forward to having the VAs rolled back into Secret as a part of the Special Edition next week as well.

If you are at the very least bit a fan of Monkey Island and didn't have a big stupid grin on your face when the theme song starts playing following the prologue, you probably don't have a heart.

Haha, I totally agree with you on the grinning part. Everytime I hear the line "Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate™" I instantly grin.

The game works well indeed! I showed it to two friends of mine who hadn't seen the adventure game format yet and they were absolutely thrilled. So my expectancies have become pretty high! I hope many people will decide to try the game at some point and that the Adventure genre will make a comeback.

[edit] Just finished chapter 1. That was awesome. smile.gif I like how you can adjust the Hint Frequency too! I prefer playing with it set to 0 but when I'm really stuck I just increase it a bit and wait till I figure it out. Very handy little feature.

Just a reminder, episode two is out now!

I recently started playing episode 1 with my girlfriend. We both love it and for her it's a nice introduction to the monkey island series.
