Full Version: Astra's Art (if you can call it that^^;)

Astra
Well, most of the stuff I've been drawing is boring observational stuff and still lifes for my portfolio (why are colleges so obsessed with them things when they're so boring? >_>), but I've had some time to create more amusing and appealing works whenever I can.

I put this one cuz I like it, even though most people have already seen it ^^; I need to fix it up in some places (i.e go over outlines) before I shove it in my portfolio, but all in all I still like this pic.

Is it taboo to put a Spyro picture on a Zelda site? Well, this is a picture of Ignitus, but I changed his design a bit; I struggled with the proportions a bit, but I think it came out okay. I'm better at drawing old trilogy things more than I am with new trilogy characters- cuz I like the old one better.

Reads right to left. Don't ask. Reading manga makes it difficult to comprehend things the other way. ^^;

A friend of mine actually drew this, but she sent it to me and I colored it and shaded it; I also added the backgrounds and lighting effects, and the action word thingies. I kept it relatively simple, but I think it came out good.

For the last panel I tried a different coloring technique, which I think I like.... The contrast makes the dragon pop out a bit more.

Speaking of which- can you believe that guy's supposed to be from the desert? He looks cool, but more like he'd be from a tropical jungle than a desert.

Reads right to left also. ^^;

The characters featured in this little comic belong to a couple of my friends, one of which is the same person who drew the dragon comic above. Anyways, they asked me to draw a cute picture of their characters as a couple, and this is what I came up with.

I colored it in pencil, but when I scanned it the shading got all weird, sorry about that....

"If you don't know where you are going, any road will take you there."

So said the Cheshire Cat to Alice under the tree in Lewis Carol's wonderful work.... Though in this work the meaning of those words are QUITE different. It's more like a parody if anything. At least the cat's evil either way! I kept that part accurate! ^^;

But I've been having Alice in Wonderland on the brain lately, so I went and drew this; it's got a darkened twist on it and a more 'sensual' and romantic feel. But there's a bit of humor too I think. Plus 'Alice' as the gothic lolita girl and the Cheshire Cat as a J Rocker looks pretty awesome, if I do say so myself.

FYI: This is a picture of Ranulf , a friend's RP character (same friend as mentioned above ^^wink.gif as the cat, and Faide, my RP character as Alice.

Drawing wise, I definitely should have cleaned up my outlines more, but I hoped at the time that the coloring would hide any major mistakes, and they did, but me being the creator can still see them! ^^;

I think I could have been more accurate with the shading in some places too- like for Ranulf's skin I wasn't sure what to do, so I blurred and smudged it a lot to make it veerrrry smooth. Faide's shading on her skin is more exact, cuz I knew what I was doing....

I'm pretty proud of the eyes though. And all in all I like this pic a lot!

P.S. I'm obsessed with Alice in Wonderland. happy.gif

Whoop, Cheshire cat-boy! Teehee. I remember being obsessed with kittyboys once, glad I got over that. blush.gif

And I don't get why you people are always "( if you can call it that^^; )" over your work. It's good work.
And I'm curious about the portfolio work. I totally agree on the boring part, but studies and references are tutes important. (I should really start keeping myself to my own advice... I don't do them enough!!)
